We redesigned the att.com moving page with a smarter strategy, better copy, more compelling imagery—and a handy checklist to make both new and existing customers choose AT&T Internet for their new places.
The challenge here was to quickly convey what the new app was all about, generate buzz and garner downloads. The colorful and lively design—coupled with easy-to-digest copy—produced an effective landing page that achieved set objectives.
This was another new charity initiative for AT&T. The clear, compelling copy paired with beautifully evocative images resulted in a page that effectively told the nonprofit’s story and mission—while enabling customers to feel good about purchasing AT&T Fiber internet and helping to complete the wish lists of local neighborhood teachers.
These two marquees that ran on the att.com internet landing during the holiday season effectively melded evocative images with compelling copy and helped the business achieve its goals for the year.
As the pandemic took hold in the spring of 2020, hunger in America increased dramatically. AT&T spearheaded a new initiative that made it easy for customers to buy Fiber internet and donate all or part of a gift-with-purchase reward card to help feed families in their communities—a win-win all around.
The concept for this lovely little catalog was to create a heartfelt letter from an adult “child” to their mother. The lines from the “letter” were interspersed throughout the beautifully art directed piece as headlines, and Nordstrom employees (including myself) contributed works of art from their respective children which were included in the shots.
Nordstrom Mother’s Day Catalog 2001
“Thanks, Mom”
Dear Mom,
Today is your special day
Mother’s Day, when children of all ages honor the women in their lives.
From my very first breath you’ve been there for me
And you deserve everything for all you’ve done for me.
So, I’m giving you this gift in the hopes that is exactly what you would have chosen.
And Mom?
Remember when you used to say that “it’s the thought that counts”?
The thought behind this gift is that you have been a magnificent mother
And I love you more than words can say.
Thanks, Mom.
My first experience writing for Amazon in the summer of 2018 turned out to be a wonderful journey. I spent a few months working with a smart and passionate team on a “secret squirrel” Kindle project aimed at building better reading habits over time. I spent my days researching interesting facts and quotes about reading—and the launch of “Reading Streaks” was very well-received.
Beauty abounds in the City of Redmond. During my time spent working with the city’s Communications Department, all I had to do was head right outside of City Hall to find exquisite Instagram photos. Pairing them with compelling copy made for a very enjoyable way to spend the work day.
During my year working in the marketing department of The Seattle Times, I enjoyed working on a variety of creative campaigns and seeing them come to life in the morning paper.
After completing an amazing yearlong “Certificate in Memoir” program at the University of Washington (taught by the magnificent Theo Nestor), I decided to submit a finished piece to the program’s yearly anthology. To my surprise and delight, “Taking Heart” made the cut. I wrote it to explore the reasons why my young daughter developed a life-threatening eating disorder that took hold with terrifying speed.
Seattle Super Sisters was born several years ago to provide some much-needed help for professionals and families with jam-packed schedules and way too many to dos.
I cooked up creative and compelling headlines for Amazon’s grocery delivery service.
